Mathematical Statistics and Actuarial Science

The Department of Mathematical Statistics and Actuarial Science celebrated its 50th year in 2006 making it one of the oldest statistics departments in South Africa. Despite being in the business of uncertainty for over half a century, the Department continually strives to reinvent itself and evolve according to the needs and demands of our time. This can be seen in the variety of learning programmes we offer, as well as in the quality and focus of our research.

Our undergraduate learning programmes are:

4335 Risk Analysis

4336 Actuarial Science

4394 Investment Science

Our postgraduate learning programmes are:
