The following sporting codes are practised on the South Campus:

Netball 
The Liberty, Legae, and Unison residences formed a powerhouse team this season (2024). Four players made it to the university team after smashing competition at the netball trials. Players also trained hard and gave their all at the Intra-campus tournament hosted on the Bloemfontein Campus.

Football
Represented by the Toka and Unison residences, our South Campus football team is a force to be reckoned with. Toka Residence had some good games. It brought home a trophy from a tournament in Bloemfontein and finished as runners-up in this year's intravarsity showdown. 

Chess
The South Campus chess team is actively participating in various university-hosted tournaments.

Facilities
The UFS South Campus boasts multipurpose sports grounds, featuring two football fields. These facilities accommodate various sporting codes, offering a vibrant space for athletes and enthusiasts. Whether it is football, netball, or other sports, these fields and courts buzz with the energy of competition and camaraderie.
